About Course

This KS3 Science course is designed specifically for students in Years 7 and 8, helping them build a strong foundation in science that truly sticks. Using clear, memorable explanations and proven learning techniques, we focus on making tricky concepts easy to understand—and hard to forget. We also teach students how to think like examiners, so they learn exactly what’s needed to secure top marks when it counts. It’s the perfect head start for GCSE Science, developed by subject specialists who understand what really works, and delivered in a way that students—and parents—can trust.

Students will learn how to:

  • Understand and remember key scientific concepts across biology, chemistry and physics

  • Apply their knowledge confidently to different types of questions

  • Think like an examiner and write answers that score top marks

  • Build strong revision habits early on, reducing stress later down the line

  • Develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills that support learning across all subjects

  • Feel more confident and motivated in science lessons at school

This course gives students the tools to succeed not just in tests, but in how they approach science for years to come.

This course is for:

  • Students in Years 7 and 8 who want to build confidence in science

  • Those aiming for top grades and a strong head start for GCSE Science

  • Learners who need clearer, more memorable explanations

  • Students who struggle to retain information or apply it under pressure

  • Anyone who wants to improve exam technique and know what examiners are really looking for

  • Parents looking for expert-led support that actually works and isn’t just another gimmick.

What will you learn?

This course covers the full KS3 Science curriculum, carefully structured to help students understand and retain the core knowledge they need as the foundation for GCSE success. Every topic is broken down into clear, engaging lessons that help students grasp the key ideas, apply them with confidence, and remember them long-term.

Biology:

  • Cells and organisation – including cell structure, specialised cells, and microscopes

  • Body systems – digestion, breathing, circulation, and how organs work together

  • Reproduction – puberty, fertilisation, and the menstrual cycle

  • Ecosystems – food chains, competition, adaptations, and environmental impact

  • Inheritance and variation – genes, DNA, and how traits are passed on

Chemistry:

  • Particles and their behaviour – states of matter, diffusion, and changes of state

  • Elements, atoms, and compounds – atomic structure and forming compounds

  • Chemical reactions – including combustion, thermal decomposition, and conservation of mass

  • Acids and alkalis – pH scale, neutralisation, and practical applications

  • The Periodic Table – groups, periods, metals vs non-metals, and reactivity trends

  • Separation techniques – filtration, distillation, and chromatography

Physics:

  • Forces – balanced/unbalanced forces, friction, pressure, and motion

  • Energy – energy types, transfers, conservation, and efficiency

  • Electricity and magnetism – circuits, resistance, and magnetic fields

  • Waves – sound and light, reflection, refraction, and the electromagnetic spectrum

  • Space – the solar system, gravity, seasons, and the Earth’s place in the universe

Alongside the content, students will also learn how to:

  • Use scientific vocabulary correctly and confidently

  • Answer exam-style questions using the techniques examiners expect

These are the essential foundations that all of GCSE Science is built on. Mastering them now means students will hit the ground running in Year 9, feel more confident in class, and be better prepared for the challenges ahead.
